End of Year Information for Families

Dear Belmont Families,

We sincerely hope that you and your family are well.  We are currently living in unprecedented times.   As members of the Belmont community we approach these times with patience, understanding, and a realization that we are all learning this “new” together and are looking forward to providing the opportunity for families to close out the school year and pick up belongings.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, June 2nd and 3rd, students and one parent/guardian will have the opportunity to retrieve student belongings and pick information.  You will receive a message from your child’s teacher as to the times and instructions for pick up.  If you have questions regarding the schedule, please email your child’s teacher.

Your child’s teacher and support staff have been diligently gathering materials and preparing completion/certificate folders to help your student close out the year.  When you arrive during your scheduled pick up time, please note that all Belmont families are expected to operate using the District 60 and Colorado Guidelines for social distancing and limiting public interaction.  Therefore, please review the following guidelines before you arrive at Belmont Elementary to pick up student belongings.

**If you are feeling unwell or have any symptoms or have been in contact with anyone that is experiencing symptoms, please do not come to the school.  You will be allowed to pick up student belongings on another scheduled date.

  • One parent/guardian may come with the student to the school according to the scheduled time provided by your student’s teacher, to pick up belongings and other materials.  All students and parents are expected to wear a mask.

  • When you arrive for your collection time, please practice social distancing expectations of 6 feet apart.  While wearing masks, families may enter classrooms from the classroom exterior doors.  No families will enter the building through the front doors.  Staff members will be monitoring the classrooms to make sure less than 10 individuals enter the classroom at a time.  If you are waiting to enter the classroom, again please follow the social distancing expectations.  All belongings and materials have been bagged for families and placed on the student desk.  Please pick up the items from the student desk and leave the classroom through the exterior door.  Families will not have access to any other parts of the building.

  • Families with library items or educational paper packets (only the completion sheet for paper packets needs to be returned - Do Not plan to return the texts  or materials, students may keep those items) to return may leave those items in the appropriate bins located in each child’s classroom.

  • For Safety reasons and timely access, we need to ensure that your visit is brief.     This is not a time for social interactions and visiting but a time for students to gather their personal belongings and close out the school year. Teachers will be in the classrooms to welcome families,  but will not be available for questions or pictures at this time.  All Belmont staff members love our students and community, and would like the opportunity to hug each student and say goodbye.  However, to ensure the safety of our school community AIR HUGS are always welcome at Belmont!

Thank you to all Belmont community members for a safe and healthy end to the 2019-2020 academic year.  We wish you an enjoyable summer break!

Belmont Elementary does not require a school uniform.
Please refer to the district and school handbook for dress code information.
